Boston Breakers Trade Rights To Lianne Sanderson To Seattle


HANOVER, Mass. (Aug. 6, 2015) – The Boston Breakers announced today they have traded the rights to forward Lianne Sanderson to Seattle Reign FC in exchange for Seattle’s second-round pick in the 2016 NWSL College Draft.

Sanderson played two seasons in Boston (2013 and 2014). She appeared in 41 games for the Breakers, starting in 38. In 3,437 minutes on the field, Sanderson scored a total of 10 goals and tallied 10 assists.

In 2013, Sanderson ranked third in the league and led the team in assists with seven. She was also tied for first on the team in goals scored (five). She earned NWSL Player of the Week honors once in both 2013 and 2014.

Sanderson was a member of England’s World Cup squad this summer, helping the Lionesses make history by reaching the semifinals for the first time.
