The Central Connecticut State University swimming and diving team finished competition at the ECAC Championships today. The Blue Devils placed eighth out of 24 scoring teams, recording 227 total points. The 400 freestyle relay team of Alex Czaplicki, Kandra Kane, Taylor Friedmann and Katie Lang placed fifth.

SMU Wins Fifth-Straight Swimming & Diving Championship

HOUSTON - The SMU Mustangs hoisted the 2010 Conference USA Swimming & Diving Championship and Invitational crown for the fifth-consecutive year Saturday night at the CRWC Natatorium on the University of Houston campus. The Mustangs tallied 707 points in the three-day tournament. East Carolina moved into second place on the final day of the competition with a team score of 611.

CCSU in Second After Two Days at ECAC Championships

Both relay teams placed in the top five as Central Connecticut State University competed in the second day of competition at the ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday. The 800 freestyle relay team of senior Kandra Kane, sophomore Alex Czaplicki and freshmen Taylor Friedmann and Katie Lang led the way with a silver medalist performance, recording a time of 7:36.09.

Eight Conference Records Fall on Day Three of the Swimming and Diving Championship

BOSTON, Mass. - The Boston University women and the UMBC men remain in first after day three of the America East Swimming and Diving Championship. In the evening session, eight conference records fell and four swimmers posted NCAAB-qualifying marks. Placing second behind the Terrier women is UMBC with 463 points.

Friedmann Wins the 500 Free as CCSU Competes in Day One Action at ECACs

Freshman Taylor Friedmann won the 500 freestyle as Central Connecticut State University competed in the first day of competition at the ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday. Friedmann recorded a time of 4:56.81 to earn gold medalist honors in the event. The Blue Devils are in fifth place.

Sophomore Alex Czaplicki and freshman Taylor Friedmann won three events each as Central Connecticut State University defeated Wagner on the road by a score of 153-108. The Blue Devils won 10 out of 14 events to stay undefeated in Northeast Conference action at 2-0. Czaplicki won the 100 backstroke, 200 back and 200 IM. She recorded times of 1:00.29, 2:09.18 and 2:10.67 in the three events.

Freshman Taylor Friedmann broke the Jack Suydam Natatorium record in the 1,000 freestyle, but Central Connecticut State University dropped a 161-139 decision at home to the University of Vermont on Sunday afternoon. Her time of 10:13.41 was a pool and freshman best in the CCSU record books and is the best time in the Northeast Conference so far this season.
