The Big Ten on Monday announced the softball Players of the Week. Below are this week’s honorees:
Co-Players of the Week
Megan Blank, Iowa
So., SS, Culver City, Calif./Marymount
· Did not record an out in 14 plate appearances to help Iowa to a series win over Northwestern
· Recorded hits in all four official at-bats, driving in three runs, scoring three times and finishing with eight walks and two hit by pitches
· Tripled in her only official at-bat in the opener in which she also walked four times with an RBI, went 2-for-2 in the second game with a home run, two RBI and three walks, and scored a run in the finale
· Wins the second Big Ten Player of the Week honor of her career and second this season
· Last Iowa Big Ten Player of the Week: Megan Blank (March 4, 2013)
Tyler Walker, Minnesota
So., SS, San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian
· Hit .857 from the plate in a weekend series sweep against Illinois, finishing with three home runs, five RBI, six runs and a combined OPS of 3.346
· Had two multi-hit games, including the series opener in which she went 3-for-3 with a pair of long balls and a triple, finishing with a 3.667 slugging percentage
· Went 1-for-2 with a run scored in the second game, before belting her third homer of the series in the finale, finishing with three RBI and two runs scored
· Takes home her first Big Ten Player of the Week honor

Pitcher of the Week
Lilly Fecho, Purdue
Fr., LHP, Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North
· Earned two victories in Purdue’s weekend series sweep of Indiana, finishing with a 0.50 ERA in 14 innings of work, striking out nine without a walk
· Did not allow a run in two relief appearances, pitching 2.1 innings in the opener, while pitching 4.2 innings of three-hit ball in the finale to earn the win
· Earned her first victory of the series in the second game, posting a complete-game five-hitter, allowing her only run of the weekend while striking out four
· Wins her first career Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor

Freshman of the Week
Sierra Romero, Michigan
SS, Murrieta, Calif./Vista Murrieta
· Belted two grand slams in the weekend series against Michigan State, finishing with eight RBI and four runs scored in the sweep
· Was .429 on 3-of-7 hitting in the series, and reached base in 10 of 14 plate appearances for a .714 on-base percentage
· Hit grand slams in the first and second games, while adding a run in each contest, and earned seven walks in the weekend series to combine for an OPS of 2.000
· Claims her sixth Big Ten Freshman of the Week award
