Mickael Bedard Joins Sundogs for Upcoming Season

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. The Arizona Sundogs announced today that forward Mickael Bedard has joined the club for the upcoming 2012-13 Central Hockey League season.  Bedard becomes the second forward signed by the team this offseason.

The upcoming season will be Bedard’s fifth as a pro.  The left wing’s professional career began in 2008-09 where he played 22 games for the St. Georges CRS Express of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey.  He totaled 17 points that year on 5 goals and 12 assists. The following season, Bedard joined the Port Huron Icehawks of the International Hockey League and tallied 35 goals and 38 assists.  He finished the season as a league leader with a +/- rating of +34, leading the Icehawks in goals and points.  

Moving to the East Coast Hockey League, the 24-year-old Bedard (Beh-DARD) appeared in 114 games scoring 41 goals and adding 52 assists.

“We’re excited to bring Mickael on board for this season,” said Head Coach David Lohrei.  “He’s a proven player, with skill, and we’re going to count on him to have an impact up front.”

Prior to turning pro, the St-Prosper, QC native spent six years playing junior hockey.  Bedard was a two-time All-Star and was named the Nanaimo Clippers’ Most Valuable Player for the 2007-08 season.
