ROSEMONT, Ill. (April 24, 2012) – Alex Petrovic and Bracken Kearns scored for the San Antonio Rampage in their 3-2 defeat to the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday night at Allstate Arena.  With the loss, the Rampage’s lead in the Western Conference Quarterfinals was cut to 2-1.

The Wolves got on the board first at the 12:24 mark of the opening period when a Jordan Schroeder shot went off of a Rampage defender and into the San Antonio net to hand Chicago a 1-0 advantage.  Schroeder’s goal was his first of the series.

Chicago extended their lead to 2-0 at 19:05 of the first with a goal from Darren Haydar.  He deflected a Mark Mancari shot past Rampage backstop Dov Grumet-Morris for his second goal of the playoffs.

Alex Petrovic cut the San Antonio deficit to 2-1 with a power-play goal 16:41 into the second.  Evan Barlow found Petrovic cutting to the net and Petrovic one-timed Barlow’s pass by Wolves netminder Eddie Lack for the score.  The tally was Petrovic’s first career AHL playoff goal.

Haydar added his second marker of the contest, an empty-net goal, with 48 seconds remaining in the third to give Chicago a 3-1 edge.
Kearns made the count 3-2 in favor of Chicago with 1.5 seconds left in the game.  He fired a shot past Lack from the top of the crease for his second goal of the postseason.

Lack made 18 saves on 20 Rampage shots while Grumet-Morris turned aside 21 of 23 Wolves attempts.

The Rampage and Wolves will meet again tomorrow night at 7 p.m. (CST) at Allstate Arena in Game 4 of their series.
