Fever Take The Lead 2-1 in Series v. Mercury
October 5, 2009, 5:15amPlease Mercury, win game four?
Okay okay, first off, I don't mind either the Mercury or the Fever taking it all. I'm just happy Detroit isn't there. Sorry no Detroit fan (of any sport really) here. With that said, I'm leaning more towards the Mercury: I'm a Taurasi, Pondexter, Mazzante, Bonner and more recently Taylor fan. Although I am and will always be a Catchings fan (and with the last NCAA postseason, I'm a January fan) I just can't get behind the Fever more. I mean, yeah they had a great turn-out tonight; Larry Bird was there; the greatest women's coach was in the stands; and supposedly the Pacers were somewhere to be found, but I'm still pro-Mercury. And I picked them way back when I was making guesses, and would love to be all correct this year. This hardly happens.
With all that said, game one and three did not disappoint! Overtime, crazy shots, the passion, the crowd.. it was beautiful. Of course the Merc are down a game, but I still have hope. Their defense and offense (or lack of real set plays) sometimes scare me, but I know that they are always this close to a comeback, a la game two. I always want the most out of the postseason, so I am pulling for five games, no matter the winner. If the Fever do win, I hope it's game five at least, even though they won't be at home with their fans and everything. But imagine the reception they'd get coming home when they arrive at the airport.
Anyway, here's to two more games that hopefully are as awesome as the last three. This year's finals more than make up for the failure that was last year.
The Mavericks look good and other random news.
Fever's up two games; can they win it all in the next?
Weather delays plague the US Open.
Yankees win, Oudin loses, and Federer is a beast.
Due to various reasons, I took a short sports hiatus, but now I'm back!
I watched the Red Sox, Rangers, and the Yankees play tonight and all won. I think that means something lucky and a lottery ticket should be bought. Well maybe not...
Hi there sports world. This is yet another sports website for me to spend countless hours reading, debating, and just plain wandering around. I guess since this is sort of like an introduction, I'll introduce myself.
