NAIRN, Scotland - Duke University senior Lindy Duncan and the United States lost five of the eight singles matches on Sunday at the 2012 Curtis Cup and dropped a 10 1/2-9 1/2 decision at the Nairn Golf Club in Nairn, Scotland. The win by Great Britain and Ireland snapped a seven-year win streak for the U.S.

Duncan, who is a product of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., struggled at the Curtis Cup after posting an easy first match victory on Friday morning. On Sunday, Duncan halved the first two holes with Charley Hull before dropping the next two to fall to 2-down. The 2012 National Player of the Year, Duncan won the fifth hole but lost the next two to fall to 3-down. Duncan got the score back to 2-down with a win on 10 but Hull won four out of the next five holes to close the match with a 5&3 victory. 

The U.S. netted singles wins on Sunday by Brooke Pancake with a 6&5 win over Leona Maguire, Tiffany Lua earned a 2-up win over Bronte Law and Lisa McCloskey carded a 4&3 win over Pamela Pretswell. 

GB&I needed 10 1/2 points to win the cup and that is exactly what the squad registered. Great Britain & Ireland totaled wins by Kelly Tidy (2&1 over Austin Ernst), Amy Boulden (3&1 over Emily Tubert), Holly Clyburn (3&2 over Erica Popson) and Stephanie Meadow (4&2 over Amy Anderson). 

It is GB&I's first title since 1996 and seventh in Match history. The USGA today announced that the 2014 Curtis Cup Match will be conducted at St. Louis (Mo.) Country Club, while the Ladies Golf Union revealed that the 2016 Match will be held at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club near Dublin, Ireland.
